Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel & Its Vast Applications
Stainless steel has an unlimited range of applications with attractive characteristics unmatched by other materials. For instance, its resistance to corrosion, ease of welding and forming, low maintenance and recyclability make it an invaluable material for a wide variety of products that play an essential role in everyday life. From industrial equipment to household appliances, it seems that anything is possible with this amazingly versatile material.

  • Kitchenware: Stainless steel, especially austenitic grade 304 BA, has long been widely accepted as a clean, durable, attractive and easy-to-maintain material for sparkling cutlery, dishes, bowls and platters.
  • Household equipment: Because austenitic stainless steel can resist rusting and is not affected by acids and salts, it has been a popular choice for a vast array of household appliances including sinks, dishwashers, washing machines, food processors, toasters, gas cookers, and water tanks, etc.
  • Agro-food industry: Strong tanks are often made of austenitic stainless steel, as it is robust and rustproof.
  • Automobile industry: Exhaust pipes, catalytic converters, and a variety of mechanical parts are commonly made from austenitic stainless steel since it offers high-temperature oxidation resistance.
  • Modern mass transit system: Key parts of buses, trains, subways and sky trains are currently manufactured from austenitic stainless steel as it is a material that meets certain requirements with low maintenance costs.
  • Freight industry: Various kinds of containers used in the transportation industry, such as refrigerated containers, insulated tankers, etc., are made of austenitic stainless steel because it provides good intergranular corrosion resistance and superior creep resistance.
  • Petrochemical Industry: The special characteristics of austenitic stainless with higher intergranular corrosion resistance and creep resistance make it a perfect material for pipes and tubes extensively used in petrochemical industry.
  • High-tech industries: Due to its corrosion resistance and high mechanical properties, austenitic stainless steel is used by high-tech industries like aeronautics, computer and electronics, nuclear technology and many others.
  • Building industry: Stainless steel, especially Bright Annealed (BA) products, has become the natural choice for architects. Its aesthetic mirror polished or fine polished quality, achieved without lengthy and costly pre-polishing operations, has inspired many modern architects to include stainless steel in their designs. Stainless steel can be found as a key feature in hotel lobbies, shopping malls, business complexes, bus stop shelters, lift panels, telephone booths, etc.
  • Art and decorative items: The clean, sleek appearance of stainless steel makes it become an attractive material for today's artists and decorators in creating their masterpieces. From public monuments such as sculptures and statues to decorative faucets, stainless steel can be an integral part of various pieces of art. Stainless steel used in this application is mostly ferritic grade because of its higher yield strength and better weld ability.
  • Miscellaneous items: Since stainless steel – either austenitic or ferritic grade – is safe and durable, a wide range of toys, pet supplies, pens, and other knickknacks are made from this wonderful material.
