Initiated by POSCO-Thainox, ‘POSCO-Thainox Metallurgy Award’ – the annual award presented for an outstanding research in the field of metallurgy – was officially launched in 1997. The objectives of this Award are to encourage young scientists, engineers and students in Thailand to be actively involved in drawing new ideas into the fields of metallurgy – especially stainless steel; to stimulate interest in metallurgy among relating academics/professions and the general public; as well as to promote recognition for researchers in the area of metallurgy among related industries and academic institutions.
